When to use Seedance 2.0 Mini

Seedance 2.0 Mini is the drafting model. It takes the same inputs as the rest of the Seedance 2.0 family, text, reference images and reference video, and it produces clips of the same lengths, but at the lowest cost per second of any model in the catalogue that still ships native audio. That combination is what makes it the right first stop for almost any idea. Write the prompt, attach the references, generate at the lower resolution tier, look at what came back, and only move to a heavier model once the composition, the pacing and the character are doing what you wanted. Most of the credits people waste are spent proving out a prompt on an expensive model, and this is the model that stops that happening. It is also perfectly publishable in its own right for feed video, where the platform is going to re-encode everything anyway and the viewer is watching on a phone at arm's length. Where it falls down is detail under scrutiny. Fine texture, small text in the frame and complex hands hold up less well than they do on the full Seedance 2.0 or on Veo, and the gap widens as the clip gets longer. So use it for volume: daily posts, hook tests, alternate cuts of the same scene, and the first pass on anything that is going to be expensive to generate properly. Then rerun the winner on the model that suits the final placement. Treat it as your test bench rather than your camera.
